Procedure Character:

Shockwave therapy is classified as a physical therapy method used for treating painful tendon insertions and musculoskeletal disorders.

Procedure Course:

The shockwaves generate a wave at the application site that spreads radially through the surrounding tissues to a depth of approximately 3.5 to 6 cm. The primary effects of shockwave therapy include reducing tissue tension (decreasing tendon pain, lowering muscle tension), increasing local blood circulation, and thereby enhancing metabolism at the application site.

Main Indications:

Treatment of tennis elbow, treatment of heel spur, shoulder joint pain, knee pain, limited mobility.

Main Contraindications:

Coagulation disorders, oncological diseases.

Duration of Procedure:

As prescribed by a doctor.

What to Bring to the Procedure:

The client does not need any special equipment for this procedure; it is recommended to have 3 to 5 treatments at weekly intervals.
