parafin

Paraffin wax for hands

Procedures

Procedure Classification:

Adjunct procedure, available for purchase.

Procedure Character:

Paraffin is a substance capable of accumulating heat and releasing it through contact with the environment as it transitions from a liquid to a solid state. This property is utilized in hand paraffin wraps. The procedure improves skin blood circulation, relaxes muscles and joints, and is indicated primarily for rheumatological diseases in a non-active inflammation stage. It is also popular for its secondary effect—softening the skin, nourishing the nails, and leaving the hands smooth and relaxed.

Procedure Course:

Upon arriving at the treatment area, the client removes watches and jewelry, disinfects their hands, and after thoroughly drying them, submerges them in a warm paraffin bath. For better wrap quality, the client dips their hands three times, with short breaks for excess paraffin to drip off and for slight solidification of the already applied paraffin. Afterward, each hand is wrapped individually, and the wrap is left to take effect.

Main Indications:

Chronic rheumatic diseases, especially of the small joints of the hands.

Main Contraindications:

Open skin diseases, oncological diseases, uncontrolled hypertension.

Duration of Procedure:

15 minutes.

What to Bring to the Procedure:

No special clothing or equipment is required for this procedure.
