Group Exercise in the Pool

Procedure Classification:

Adjunct procedure, based on a medical consultation

Procedure Character:

Group physical education in the pool is specific in that it allows movement in a relieved state due to the pressure and resistance of the water on the submerged parts of the body. Therefore, it is utilized to facilitate and enrich movement or for strengthening against the resistance of water. When moving in water, different structures and functions of the musculoskeletal system are engaged compared to outside the aquatic environment. The procedure also has significant relaxing and anti-edema effects.

Procedure Course:

Patients dressed in swimsuits exercise in the water according to the instructor's instructions.

Main Indications:

Musculoskeletal, neurological, and cardiovascular diseases

This procedure is primarily intended for clients with musculoskeletal difficulties, such as back pain, pain in weight-bearing joints (knees, hips), shoulders, and for clients with overweight. The water temperature is 30°C.

Main Contraindications:

Incontinence, skin diseases, skin defects, acute illnesses.

Duration of Procedure:

30 minutes

What to Bring to the Procedure:

It is advisable to come in a bathrobe and swimsuit.
