Procedure Classification:

Adjunct procedure, based on medical consultation.

Procedure Character:

Subcutaneous injections of automatically measured doses of gaseous carbon dioxide applied to the prescribed set of localized injection sites, usually while the patient is seated, rarely lying down, and sufficiently exposed, after the usual disinfection of the injection sites, with possible subsequent treatment of the injection sites with a post-injection plaster.

Procedure Course:

The client sits on a chair and removes clothing according to the injection sites. The nurse applies the prescribed amount of gas to the designated areas using a thin sterile needle.

Main Indications:

Ischemic heart disease with angina pectoris syndrome, degenerative diseases of the joints and spine with painful syndrome, peripheral circulation disorders.

Main Contraindications:

Local skin and subcutaneous inflammation at the treatment site, bleeding disorders, any acute illness.

Duration of Procedure:

5 minutes.

What to Bring to the Procedure:

It is advisable to come in a bathrobe.
